In 2008 a new British Standard was published that aims to maximise the evidential weight of electronic information held by companies. BS 10008 sets out requirements for data management in companies to ensure the integrity of information. I spoke with Rob Arendt from CapGen on the DMS Expo last week how this standard belongs the capturing process of aper-based documents into images. Here we go with his information.

Ich hatte diese Woche die Gelegenheit, mir ein sehr innovatives Produkt zum ergonomischen, manuellen Scannen anzuschauen. Das Produkt nennt sich sceye, was für scanning eye steht, und wurde von der deutschen Firma silvercreations software AG entwickelt. Der Scanner erinnert an eine moderne Schreibtischlampe. Anstelle der Glühbirne ist ein Kameraauge eingebaut, die auf eine Unterlage auf dem Tisch schaut. Der Scanner ist extrem platzsparend. Wenn er nicht mehr gebraucht wird, klappt man ihn einfach zusammen. Die Standfläche benötigt dann nicht mehr als eine große Kaffeetasse.
