Usually, I am pretty positive about a bunch of people meeting up and deciding about how to make the (software) world a better place. Particularly if this bunch includes me! I was devastated though, to be part of the DLM Forum’s spring meeting this year. Not only did I see my concerns about the future of MoReq2 confirmed, but I had to learn that now we have another bunch of people who are working to make MoReq2010 the RM standard that could (or would, or should? Whatever.). Now, this in itself is not news anymore, as others have brokered information like this to the general public much sooner.

Wer wissen möchte, was die richtigen Regeln sind, ist bei der DIN EN 15713 gut aufgehoben. Die europäische Norm EN 15713 “Sichere Vernichtung von vertraulichen Unterlagen” (“Secure destruction of confidential material”) ist in Deutschland als DIN EN 15713 und in Österreich als OENORM EN 15713 implementiert. Diese Norm wurde auf Initiative von Großbritannien in CEN/TC 263 erarbeitet und beruht weitgehend auf British Standard BS 8470:2006. Dem Regelungsgehalt nach handelt es sich um Anforderungen an Datensicherheit und Dienstleistungserbringung. (more…)

Beim ersten Lesen des Artikels When Is a Document Not a Document? auf der Seite der AIIM unter Records Management war ich schon perplex, welchen Gedankengängen man hinterher hängen kann. Aber einmal drüber geschlafen muss ich gestehen, dass auch ich es als wichtig empfinde, wenn einmal einheitlich geklärt wurde, was genau im Sinne des Records Management und damit der Compliance aufzubewahren ist und was nicht. At the current DLM Forum (www.dlm2008.com), MoReq2 is a hot topic. Here, a delegate from Romania is detailing changes required to make MoReq2 a worthwile and lasting iniative.

Update: imbus and the DLM Forum have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding effectively paving the way to make imbus the first MoReq2 testing center.
