Andreas Leue arbeitet mit seinem Team bei Sphenon schon seit der Jahrtausendwende an Konzepten für die Generierung dynamischerer Anwendungssysteme.  Entwickelt hat sich dabei die UBPML als Modellierungssprache für fachliche als auch IT-technische Geschäftsprozesse, die in einem integrierten Modell konsistent beschrieben werden können. UBPML ist als Ergänzung zu den bewährten Standards UML und BPMN gedacht, um die Spannung zwischen fachlicher Ebene und technischen Details aufzulösen. (more…)

Usually, I am pretty positive about a bunch of people meeting up and deciding about how to make the (software) world a better place. Particularly if this bunch includes me! I was devastated though, to be part of the DLM Forum’s spring meeting this year. Not only did I see my concerns about the future of MoReq2 confirmed, but I had to learn that now we have another bunch of people who are working to make MoReq2010 the RM standard that could (or would, or should? Whatever.). Now, this in itself is not news anymore, as others have brokered information like this to the general public much sooner.

Im Februar 2010 hatte ich das erste Mal über die Konformitätsklassenbildung der BPMN-Elementen im Post Neue BPMN 2.0 unterscheidet Konformitätsklassen berichtet. Ich habe mir nun die Beta-Version der Spezifikation aus dem Mai angeschaut. Hier gibt es nur noch drei Klassen mit einem etwas anderen Schnitt. Im Feburar war der Vorschlag für die Klassennamen noch SIMPLE, DESCRIPTIVE, DoDAF und COMPLETE. Nun heißen sie:

• Analytic
• Common Executable

Nein? Dann liegen Sie im Trend. Fast die gesamte nationale ECM-Branche hat verschlafen, dass da still und leise ein deutsches Amt zusammen mit einigen wenigen, direkt profitierenden Protagonisten einen Möchtegern-Standard entwickelt und am 30.7.2009 freigegeben hat. Die Kurzbezeichnung ist TR 03125 (alternativ TR-VELS) und ist auf der Web-Site des Bundesamtes für die Sicherheit in der Informationstechnologie zu erhalten. Nun könnte sich die SAPERION zurücklehnen, da sie große Teile, speziell das ArchiSig und Crypto Modul im Zusammenspiel mit der Partnerlösung von secrypt ab dem Service Pack 2 der Version 6  schon erfüllt hat und der Rest nur noch eine “Kleinigkeit” wäre und wir damit zu einer Reihe von Mitbewerbern die Nase vorne hätten … (more…)

Saturday saw the announcement on the OASIS members email list that Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) Version 1.0 was ready for public review. Review remains open until Dec. 22nd, and is open for non-OASIS members as well; thus we encourage everyone to participate and provide comments on this important ECM standard. Here is how to do that:

“Comments may be submitted to the TC by any person through the use of the OASIS TC Comment Facility which can be located via [...], or directly at: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=cmis.”

Now, we are already at work to support CMIS (see CMIS, Chemistry and SAPERION Content Repository) but what about you? So far, CMIS is all the rave among the vendors, but the user community remains somewhat quiet ;-)

Ich hatte am 27 Mai die Gelegenheit, mich auf einer Veranstaltung der Humbold-Universität in Berlin auf den aktuellen Stand der BPMN 2.0 zu bringen. Fazit: es bleibt in den nächsten 2 Jahren für alle, die sich für einen BPM-Standard in Spe entscheiden wollen sehr spannend. Nebenbei durfte ich auch einen historischen Augenblick für mich mitnehmen, denn die Veranstaltung fand in dem ältesten, noch erhaltenen Gebäude Berlins statt. Das Universitätsgebäude wurde an eine Kapelle aus dem 13. Jahrhundert angebaut und wird für entsprechende Veranstaltungen genutzt.

Der erste von vier 20-minütig Vortragenden plauderte als Mitglied der BPMN-Expertengruppe aus dem Nähkästchen. Zu erfahren war, dass sich die zwei teilweise konträren Lager nach anfänglichen “Grabenkriegen” sich doch auf sinnvolle Definitionen einigen konnte. (more…)

You may already have heard that SAPERION 6 has finally been released (hmmh, okay, it took a little longer than first expected, but we’re far from becoming an entrant of the Vaporware Awards…). With this new release, we have added more than a 100 new features, greatly overhauled the core architecture, and made available more than a 1,000 API calls in addition to those already available. While in the process of creating SAPERION’s newest ECM release, we also created SAPERIONforge, a SAPERION-centric platform for open source developers we intend to further expand in the future. "Die JCR führt zu einer unifizierten Anwen-dungsentwicklung"

Warum bin ich von der Java Content Repository überzeugt? Nach einer gewisser Zeit, beim Arbeiten mit der Spezifikation wird einem klar, dass die JCR sehr wichtig ist, insbesondere in der „Ordner-Akten“-Denkweise, wovon der DMS-Bereich geprägt ist. Und nicht nur das. JSR-170 (oder JCR) ist ein Standard, der zu einer unifizierten Anwendungsentwicklung führt. (more…)

We think: yes. There are several reasons to believe just that, among the least important of which is the fact that MS was among the group of companies who originally submitted the standards effort to OASIS. However, there are other things that make us believe that CMIS may be in for a treat by MS, particularly that MS folks have started to prove the point of CMIS by actively publishing an example about CMIS-based MOSS integration on MSDN.
